Cory Ricaurte’s work is influenced by the mystery of Mother Nature. Known for focusing on the beauty of foliage and plant life, Cory brings nature back to life through sculpture. By using just his hands and simple tools, the artist reimagines familiar elements, adding even more life than before.
Raised in Florida, Cory was immersed in the arts at an early age. With his mother a musician and his father an artist, he was influenced to explore art and has constantly been creating art in different forms. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in 2019, and began creating sculptures full time.
Recently, Cory has been experimenting with new color techniques for his sculptures. Adding a twist to the natural patterns on plants, Cory aims to make his sculptures seem even more alive, while also maintaining his signature style of larger-than-life. Each piece is finished with a clear enamel to accentuate the vibrant colors and textures he has mastered.
